I’m not a Photographer.

Using a Camera doesn’t make you a photographer anymore than using a pen makes you a writer. A camera is an implement. A tool. I’m just an artist. It’s simpler that way. An artist using a tool to create a canvas upon which he can make his art, and hoping somewhere along the way he evokes a bit of emotion from his viewer.

My work is me. Every image, even the simple ones, all started as an emotion or a dream, for good or bad. It’s all a part of who I am, and that makes what I do very personal to me. My art is about evoking an emotion or a thought. It’s about telling a story or displaying a feeling. It’s never about “pretty.”

While the finished product might be beautiful as often as it is grotesque or shocking, it’ll never simply be “pretty,” and if that’s all you see then I haven’t done my job.

“Pretty?” That’s some other guy.
