OVERVIEW

The Manager Benefits is responsible for the plan design recommendations, implementation, administration, legal compliance and communication of employee benefit policies, programs, and procedures. The position will oversee a benefits team of two members and reports to the Director Compensation and Benefits.




ACCOUNTABILITIES


· Oversees the Benefits Team for the implementation and communication of new and/or revised benefits plans and programs, and the ongoing administration of all plans including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), ESPP, EAP.

· Provides excellent customer services to all employees with benefits questions and needs.

· Ensures full compliance with all applicable rules and regulations, including but not limited to ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, retirement, leave laws, etc.

· Analyzes market trends/internal benefits needs and recommends changes to benefits plans and the design.

· Leads the annual benefits renewal and partners with Finance in the budget projection and tracking.

· Plans and manages the annual open enrollment process, and ensures effective communication and marketing to employees regarding benefits changes and enhancements.

· Develops and implements programs to promote employee health and wellness.

· Acts as a liaison between the Company and third party benefit administrators and ensure the TPA meets and exceeds the performance standards.

· Coordinates with the plan administrators, Finance department and outside auditors for the annual test, reporting and audit of the health and welfare plans and the 401(k) plan.

· Provides guidance and training of other HR members, field and store management in connection with the benefits plans.

· Develops and updates related policies, procedures and communication materials

· Continues to streamlines all the benefits administration processes to improve their effectiveness and efficiencies. Partners with IT on enhancing the online enrollment tools.

· Studies changes in legislation and ensures compliance with federal, state and local benefit laws and regulations that apply to the benefits plans and programs

· Administers, approves and manages leave of absences, including appropriate written correspondence and required documentation. Partners and trains management on leave policies and procedures to ensure consistent practices across the Company.

· Other projects and tasks as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Education

· Minimum of 5 years benefits experience, including plan design and plan administration.

· 2-3 years of supervisory/management experience is required.

· Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and CBP is a plus.

· Experience working in a rapid-growth retail environment with multi sites in multi states is preferred.

· Experience and knowledge of HR system/applications for the benefits administration is required.

· Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment – build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.

· Recognized by peers as collaborative, knowledgeable and resourceful.

· Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).



Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)

· Able to work on a PC for extended hours.

· Able to move boxes and materials up to 30 pounds.

· Able to remain calm and focused under pressure
