Graphic Designer, Part-Time – Costa Mesa, CA

This position reports to our (very awesome) Marketing Director, and will work on both Urban Decay and Hard Candy brands. The position is ideal for someone with a few years of experience who would like a part-time position while they freelance in their free time. The work is not always glamorous, but the environment and experience are well worth it.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Basic Layout
Examples: Create tear sheets, invitations, press releases, and visuals/poster for events. Lay out sell sheets for forecasting, posters for field, and sales meeting materials. Design seasonal marketing books, small advertisements, flyers, collateral, and seasonal look face charts. Produce letterhead and business cards.
Printing/Production
All above items must be quoted and printed. Press checks must be attended or proofs approved. Must be familiar with basic printing, digital/offset, Pantones, etc.
Photography
Candidate will photograph products for manuals, proposals, etc. Must have basic knowledge of digital photography, color retouching and correcting, and clipping. (Expert level not necessary. Basic/intermediate skills acceptable.)
Freelance Support
Packaging and merchandising design are handled by outside freelancers. Graphic Designer will provide some support to these freelancers: providing them necessary graphic assets, reviewing their work as it is submitted, and archiving their completed files.
Education + Experience:
Four year degree in Graphic Design strongly preferred, equivalent experience will be considered
At least two years previous experience in a similar position
Software:
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
Basic Mac system/software
Standard MS Office applications
Basic PC/Mac conversion/compatibility troubleshooting
Resourceful with internet
Anticipated Schedule:
Graphic Designer will work 20 hours/week. The schedule of days and times can be set for whatever is most convenient for the employee.
